Anne Marie Kleis was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Puerto Rico by her Dutch father Dr. Walter Kleis and Puerto Rican mother, Margarita Pasarell. She played professional tennis and is fluent is 4 languages (English, Spanish, French and Italian).

Anne Marie studied at the University of Pennsylvania, Rollins College and The Fashion Institute of Technology. She lived in NYC for 6 years where she worked in fashion for Saks, Ann Taylor, Daniel Hechter and Alain Manoukian.

AMK Events recently celebrated its 20th Anniversary, creating unique, memorable corporate gatherings and lush, beautiful tropical weddings. Family members, friends and business partners joined Anne Marie in the celebration at the Four Season's George V Hotel in Paris, France – a soiree with a delightful fusion of Caribbean flair and Parisian sense of style!

We have planned special events that range from board meetings to over 3,000 attendees. Our clients include Destination Meetings for corporations, associations, nonprofit organizations as well as social celebrations for private individuals.

Every event that we coordinate is as special to us as it is to our clients...and we have fun doing them!


Planning a wedding is a people business and we spend the majority of our time communicating with just about everyone–the bride, the groom, wedding vendors, wedding guests…we know the best caterers on the Island, florists, photographers and musicians - all solid vendors that have been providing services to AMK Events through the years.

We provide the professional hands-on help for the busy bride and family from the very beginning to the end!

  • Recommend and work with all wedding suppliers
  • Accompany clients on all appointments
  • Negotiate wedding supplier contracts
  • Manage the guest list and RSVPs
  • Create a workable wedding budget
  • Plan a variety of wedding parties (engagement, showers etc.)
  • Help create the theme and style of the wedding
  • Provide ongoing telephone and email support (sometimes daily)
  • Be there on the wedding day to make sure it all happens as planned!
