MILLER / COORS PRESIDENT’S AWARD INCENTIVE GROUP EVENT – SCRUB ISLAND, B.V.I.
Putting on the 3-day Miller / Coors “President’s Award” corporate event presented a logistical challenge for AMK planners as Scrub Island has very little to non existent infrastructure required to support such an event with 100 attendees.
Scrub Island was virtually privatized for 5 days in preparation and execution of the festivities. The logistics were daunting. Support staff, food supplies, performers, musicians, lighting / staging equipment, even fireworks all were brought in by sea from surrounding islands, Puerto Rico and even the mainland U.S.!
Day one started with a Caribbean carnival inspired welcome event held on the beach featuring exotic stilt dancers, steel drum and local “Soca” bands from neighboring islands. Guests enjoyed a fabulous BBQ of roasted pig, grilled lobster and fresh fish, curries and rice dishes.
Day two featured a “Pirates Party” at the famed Little Dix Bay on the island of Virgin Gorda. All 100 attendees were ferried back and forth aboard private, chartered vessels.
Day three included an elegant awards dinner featuring candles and floral arrangements spiced up with live music and dancing entertainment followed by an event ending fireworks display with choreographed music.
LITTLE DIX BAY 50th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION – VIRGIN GORDA, B.V.I.
It was with such excitement and honor that AMK Events took on the job of coordinating the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Little Dix Bay Resort on Virgin Gorda in the BVI’s. This resort is like no other in the world. Developed in the 1960’s by conservationist Laurence Rockefeller, Little Dix Bay is a haven of tranquility keeping the harmony with nature and making it a timeless resort in the Caribbean.
The invitations, the calligraphy and the gorgeous floral decorations were all done by vendors based in San Juan. Puerto Rican artisans also designed and produced the sophisticated and elegant floral decorations. The cymbidium orchids were ordered from Holland. Chartering airplanes and transferring all vases via boat from Tortola was a master plan.
At the end of it all a beautiful fireworks display finalized the evening’s celebration!
